December Reading Reflection
The focus of your reading reflection will be one book you read over the past month. This reading reflection will have two parts. Each part will have multi-paragraphs. I expect one page minimum. If you didn’t finish a book this reading cycle or didn’t make the required number of pages this will be difficult.
Do you best to address every section.
This reading reflection is not meant to be a polished piece of writing. I do, however, expect you to be mindful of Standard English, correct capitalization and punctuation.
- How many pages did you read this month?
- What were the titles of the books you read?
- Did you abandon any books this month? If so, what were they?
- Based on the grading chart, what grade do you believe you deserve?
B = 175- 239= 17 pts
C = 110- 174= 15 pts
D = 44-109 = 13 pts
F = 0-43 = 11pts
• If you did not meet the page requirement, make a plan for next time. How will you meet the reading requirements?
Second Part:
What are you reading plans for Christmas Break? What if anything are you planning to read.
Next semester the reading requirement is going to be raised from 350 to 400. How do you think this will affect you? What will you need to do differently to meet the reading requirement?

It think I read a little over 240 pages I’m not completely sure. I don’t remember the books though and I know I didn’t abandon any books. Based on the grading chart I think I should get an A.
I was reading this book called night world and it had 729 pages in it . I thought it was long and I was going to stop reading it but never did because it had me hanging on every word. So I predicted that in the end it would suck because that’s how some good books are but it was awesome.

Well I didn’t really read this month but there were a few days where I did read and when I did read I wrote summaries about what I had read. But some days I just got really bored and didn’t want to read at all but there were some days where I would be extremely tired, and not want to read at all but then I realized that it would actually affect my grade so then about halfway through our reading time I would kick it into gear and start reading, but I get really bored at reading.
I didn’t even complete any books this month, but everyday that I came into class I would get a different book to read, and just write different summaries on the books that I had read for that day.
Over Christmas break I don’t really plan on reading much however I do plan on working and making that money.
It has been pretty good this year Mrs. Laipple, I have done really good in here this year, I have kept my grade above a 90% all semester, and can’t wait to get back from break so that I can continue to keep my grade up and keep having a wonderful success in the last years of my high school career. I really plan on doing as good second semester as I did first semester, because if it does go down like that then of course I would pass your whole entire class for the entire year.
There have been times where I may have been a little bit of a disruption but then I apologize and get right back to what I am supposed to be doing, but other than that I am pretty good student, at least for the part that I think I am.
Thanks for everything so far and I hope you have a safe pregnancy, and good luck in the future.

I read 247 pgs. The two books I read this month where Just Listen, & now I’m reading Love Meg<3. No I did not abandon any books this month, I believe I deserve an A for my grade. In the book just listen I made a prediction about Annebell & Owen. They always hung out together and kissed a couple times. I started thinking they where probably going to get together, & at the end they did!

This month I have read about 260 at least. I have been reading a book called Death Note it is an anime book. This month I didn’t abandon any books at all because I only picked out two books to read this month both of them was a Death Note books I think they have about 25 maybe more Death Note books. I would like to say I should get at least a A because I did read the right amount of pages that you wanted me to read its just I didn’t read them in your class room like I was suppose to but at least I read in different classes and at home. I did meet my reading requirement so I plan on doing the same thing next month.
The book that I am writing a reflection on is Death Note how the book made me feel.
At first I really didn’t get it at all cause it was about a kid that found a note book that could kill people so at first I really didn’t like it but then I got to reading and kind of liked it. The character changed a lot once he got that notebook it changed his whole life he wanted to get rid of all the criminals in the world with that book her though he would be helping everybody out
I really don’t have any reading plans for Christmas break cause its Christmas break that the time when you really don’t worry about anything. Because its your time to finally get a break off from school work or whatever you get a break from. When you change the pages from 350 to 400 I don’t think it will affect me much all that mean is I will have to read 50 more pages.
This month I read 234 pages and the book I read was called tall grass. This book was about how this little town called Ellis had an army of Japanese showed up and built a concentration camp. They took over the town of Ellis and made the whole town leave and if they refused to leave they killed them.
I didn’t really like this book, it started out good then it went bad. I thought it was messed up how they come to their town and pushed them out and took the place over. If I were the city people I would try fighting back. The Japanese were showing up on trains and buses and didn’t like the Ellis people staring at them. I think they could of stayed in Japan and made there camp there instead of taking someone else’s homeland. The Japanese did not need to make them leave they could of just stayed in one area of the town and it would have been fine. I think they should of choose somewhere else the Ellis because it snows constantly there and there trying to build a camp and train soldiers and its going to be a lot harder to do that now.
I did not abandon any books this month. If I start reading a book I try to finish it even if I don’t like it. I think I deserve a B for this month.
Il probably read like 20 pages every few days and keep reading. I don’t think the 400 pages will effect me. I will just have to ready a few more pages a day and I should be fine.

For the month of December i read 582 pages
The books i read were Burned, Cursed, and Oujin
In the book Oujin a young boy named Makar is living in a forest village. I related to Makar, as he disliked his mother and missed his father. I could relate to his desire to be an artist. When he discovered a magic paintbrush that made drawings real i was kind of jealous, as that would be fun to have.
After Makar finds the paintbrush he accidentally makes a magic fire that circles the village he lived in. Trapping his friends and family, after this point Makar becomes evil and twisted. He becomes tainted by the evil of the magic paintbrush.
Divi, a magician who lives in a nearby city with his father. Finds upon Makar while he’s in the forest looking for ingredients. Makar confesses the evil deed he just committed and Then begins to attack Divi. After Divi scares him off Makar runs away and starts sending painted monsters to attack the entire region.
Divi has to take on many tough challenges he has to be brave in order to face Makar and his minions. I myself have had to face things I didn’t want to.
Over time Divi wants to give up, he’s out of energy and believes that there’s never going to be and end to the fighting. (I’ve felt like that at times too) But Divi soon rescues a girl from the paint monsters. Serhia. Who convinces him he’s a real hero that shouldn’t be giving up so easily.
Divi overcomes his doubt and depression to finish off Makar. The paint monsters implode and the world is safe.
When Divi was about to give up I felt sad for all the effort he put into trying to save everyone. Divi was very unselfish in his attempts to save the world even though it took its toll on his mind and body.
Divi was incredibly brave to take on the hulking behemoths that were the paint monsters

This month I probably read around 123 pages. I mostly read the book “First shot” and finished the book. I read a couple others but abandoned them. I cant remember the titles of the books. So based on the grading chart I would give my self a C=110- 174= 15 pts. In the last part of First Shot I read about how crandell found the other key to the safe that was hidden in the secret tunnels. When he opened the safe up there was nothing to do with his mother or anything, it was completely empty. He also told the police chief about what he witnessed his dad buried by the light house one night and he told them it looked like a gun. So him and the chief went to the light house to dig up and see what it was and sure enough it was a black powder gun. The chief went and arrested his dad at the campus and went straight to jail. When crandell went to the police station he wanted to speak to his father about why he killed his mother. His dad wouldn’t say anything about and then his dad was thinking crandell did it. But crandell left the police station very angry. Then him and the friend that’s a girl he is always is with went to a storage garage and found all his mothers paintings that they have been looking for ( crandell’s dad told them where the paintings were). Then ( I cant remember his name) came and tried stealing them and then the kids escaped in his car and got in a wreck on the way. The guy tried playing the good guy and acted like he cared about them at the hospital but it was all an act. It was really him that killed his mother. That’s all I can tell you about the book I can remember. I would recommend this book to anyone because it is a very good and interesting book to read.
Over Christmas break I don’t really plan on reading a whole lot just because I am not a big reader. As far as the reading requirement being raised I do think it will affect we a little. I don’t really meet the reading requirement now so the raise will make it a little bit more harder.

This month I read 257 pager (including in another class).
My Bloody Life , Finding Spirit Bear, Boot Camp, and Crank.
I did abandon a few books. They were Finding Spirit Bear, Crank, And Boot Camp. My Bloody Life is the only good book I really like out of the book I’ve chosen. From the amount of pages I have read, I deserve an A.
My Bloody Life, This book is my favorite type of books to read. I just like hearing about people growing up in the ghetto, about gang life, and what people did to survive. In the book the author is the main character, He writes how when we was growing up his mom married young, and went from man to man. Also how his moms boyfriends were nice at first, then turned to beat him and his mom joined in as well. I can relate to this, when I was 2 years old my mom and dad split up and my mom married when I was 5 years old. The first few years he was nice, buying me things, he got me into baseball. Then once I turned 10 things went down hill. He started screaming at me for having my bedroom windows open when its in the middle of the summer. Him and my mom argue all the time. Mostly my mom sticking up for me, because my step dad is getting mad over something dumb. But I know how Rey feels when he is broke, lives with other people, and moving from a friends couch to couch. My older brother had to do the same thing. Because he lived with my dad and they always had to move like every couple of months. But over all this book is really good. I would recommend this to any one that has a parent that has had moved from boyfriend/girlfriend to boyfriend/girlfriend. And if anyone has been at a point in life were they just want to escape and go to there own little world.

I read over at least 148 pages this month. This month I finished Geronimo and started a new book called Blood in the cage. I did not abandon any book I only started one. I think I deserve a C. The book I am reading right now is Blood in the cage. I really like this book because it is about the UFC and how it started and the UFC is one of my favorite sports to watch. Pat Miltech was also a very good wrestler so this also made me want to read the book and he is also not to far away he is from Bettendwarf Iowa.
I made some connections with the character we both played football and wrestled in high school the main character is Pat Miltech. The only change that happened is that Pat Miltech went from small time fights to Big Time fights and how he got there He also was the only brother out of all his brothers to do something successful one of his brothers died and the other brother was always in prison. Over Christmas break I will probably read a little bit of my book and the newspaper. I think next semester I will be able to read 350 to 400 pages all I will have to do is find books I like and read a little more.
I think all I will have to do to meet the new reading requirement is find a longer book. I also could just find a couple books I like and read them. I also could read more at home to help me out. All I would have to do is read a certain amount of page’s every day.

In the book Love Meg<3 I was surprised how megs sister Lucie acted. Meg was running late the first day of school, she was waiting on her sister cause she was suppose to take her. When Lucie got there she told Meg she couldn’t take her to school cause she needed to take a shower. Meg told her she didn’t have a ride to school besides if she took her. Lucie said oh well walk or take the city bus. Which was about six to seven blocks away. My reaction to that was WOW, her sister is very self centered cant even take her little sister to school. Obviously Lucie don’t care about her education!
I’m not sure what I’m going to read over Christmas break. Just depends on what I pick up. I think next semester I will be fine when the page requirements go up, cause I love to read anyways. I’ll just have to take my book home more and read
For the month of December I read 47 pages. I have not read that many pages because I did not get that interested in any of them but deep green. I did not read also because I really don’t like to read at al. but really I read when I have to and it is a grade. For the next month I will read the right number of pages to get the good grade. Over the Christmas break I will read my pages for the month for January so I can get ahead of the class, So I am not behind. When the numbers of the pages raises I think it will affect me because if I cant read 350 pages what makes them think I can read 400 pages? For me that is a good question. madison scott

I read 127 pages this month. I read two books this month. I read a book about a girl who was going back to Mexico to see her family, but I can’t remember the title of the book. I also am in the process of reading a book called Evolution, Me & Other Freaks of Nature. I abandoned the book about the girl who went to Mexico to see her family. I couldn’t really get into the book. I kept on getting lost, it jumped around too much. I think I deserve a “C” because I read more than 110 pages but less than 174 pages. I didn’t meet the requirement this month because the date really snuck up on me. I feel like it was last week that we did our November reading reflection. I’m glad we didn’t have read the full 350 pages.
I read Evolution, Me & Other Freaks of Nature. This book is actually really entertaining. I have read that much but so far it’s about this girl who does something really wrong, get’s kicked out of her church, she no longer has any friends, her parents despise her and no one talks to her besides her lab partner Casey. I had to read several pages before I could understand what was going on. I thought & will always think that people are treating her too badly. I don’t think there is anything she could have done so wrong that would make everyone stop talking to her, be mean to her, and ingoring her besides going out and murdering someone, but if she did that then she would be locked up . The book hasn’t told me what she did that was so bad, besides telling me that there was a lawsuit filed against her, so it really makes you want to keep reading.
I think they shouldn’t be treating her so badly. One day she was sitting at lunch by herself when her ex-bestfriend came up and called her a traiter, threw her banana on her head, and said “how does it feel now”, then she grabbed her wrist and twisted it. Then the ex-bestfriend said “what’s it like being the most hated girl in school, bet your glad you opened your big fat mouth.” Then let go of her wrist and said “you’re pathetic you know that, You’re nothing. You may as well be dead” Then put her hand over her mouth and said “ opps did I say something bad, is your mama gonna sue me” Then she got in her face and told her to stay away and everyone was staring. I couldn’t even imagine that happening to me. I would want to curl up into a ball and die. That had to be the most embarrassing thing in the world. The main character didn’t say anything though, she went home and decided that she was going to be strong and walk proud. I would tell myself the same thing, but I don’t know if I would even want to hold my high after getting told to go die. She is a really strong person. I respect her for that.
I will be completely honest with you, I will not be reading over Christmas Break. I will have go home and read next semester because I barely get 300, so I really have to push myself to read. I want to raise my grade in here.

I read 155 pages this month the title of the book is What Happened To Cass McBride. No I didn’t abandoned the book because I like it its interesting when you start to read more and more. I think I deserve a C because I read the pages that I need to get a C. I didn’t meet the pages requirement pages this month but I will try to complete the pages requirement next month because I am going to take my book home and read for 30 minutes each day in school and at home after school.
I didn’t really have any feelings or thoughts and connections about this book because I haven’t pass through what the girl on the book I passing through. But I know if someone does that to my brother I would kidnap her I just make her for what she did to my brother doing the same thing that she did to him. Because why would I want to kidnap her when I can do to her what she did to my brother.
My plans for Christmas are to spend time with my family I am probably going to Florida to visit my grandparents and my aunts.
I have to read 400 pages next month instead of 50 but this is not going to effects because I am going to take the book home and I am gong to read it for 30 minutes
Amber C.
I read 110 pages this month and I only read one book, but I didn’t get finished with it. The title of the book is called Shortie Like Mine. I did not abandon any books this month. I believe I deserve at least a C this month, because I read 110 pages and that is a C on the grading chart. I didn’t meet the page requirement because I haven’t had the time to read that much, but I read when I could.
Well the main character in this book is a girl named Seven, she is in high school and has a twin sister named Toi. Toi is dating the neighborhood thug, and no one likes it in their family, and Seven is ashamed of herself because she is the thickest girl in her clique. So Seven is single and they’re at this club with her clique waiting to get in and her friend Deehya hooks up Seven with this guy named Melvin a.k.a. Big Country. Seven doesn’t like him, but her best friend does. Seven has a crush on this guy named Josiah but Josiah is dating Deehya, and Seven doesn’t like it because Deehya knew Seven liked Josiah a lot. But then when they all got in the club, Josiah goes off on Seven because Seven was kind of going off on Melvin.
So then a few days later at school Seven sees Deehya with Josiah’s worst enemy Dollah, and there holding hands and everything, but they say it isn’t nothing. Seven used to kind of date Dollah like the year before or so. But Josiah doesn’t know about it. Then a few weeks later Seven accidentally bumps into Josiah and drops all her stuff and tries to pick it up real fast, and he asked her why she wouldn’t let him help her pick it up, then Seven is sort of getting a attitude with him because he never apologized for calling her names and going off on her at the club. But then her was flirting hard with her and then he said he was sorry, but then Deehya came and seen some of them two flirting and went off on them, but Josiah came out on top, and told Deehya to go to class, and then walked Seven to her class. Now Seven is trying to hook up her best friend Shae and Melvin, because they both like each other, and so far Seven hasn’t heard from Josiah again.
I am planning on finishing my book and starting a new over Christmas break. When the reading requirement is raised from 350 to 400 I think it would be worse for me because it’s hard for me to read 200 pages in a month. But I will try to read more often so I can keep my grade up.

December Reading Reflection
During the month of December I have ready around 180 pages from the book “A RIP in Heaven.” I didn’t abandon any books this month but I was tempting to put down the book I’m currently reading because I couldn’t really get into it but once I reached around page 30+ I started getting into it. This month I believe I should get at least a B for reading. Next month to reach the reading requirements for 400 pages I’m going to try to read at least 15 pages a night or during school. I only read on 1 book this month and that is “A RIP in Heaven;” So far it’s about this kid named Tom who develops a real close relationship with his cousin Julie. Well Julie and tom don’t live close together so tom and his mom and dad and two sisters are visiting from Washington and they are in St. Louis. Well the night tom and his part of the family were trying to get some sleep for the long road trip home the next morning Julie and tom and robin (Julies sister) all decided to go out and find something to do since It’s toms last night. But tom’s dad ended up saying he didn’t want tom to go out but tom did anyways. Well Julie, tom and robin all decided to go to the Old chain of Rocks Bridge in St. Louis were Julie had a poem spray painted on the bridge and she wanted to show tom. Well they get there and they start looking at the poem and walked around a little bit on the bridge before leaving. But these 4 guys come out of no were and scared tom Julie and robin. All 7 of them started walking and talking and the 4 guys seemed harmless, but when they split up to go back to there cars; the 4 guys decided they wanted to have some fun so they turned back around and went after Julie and robin and raped them and help tom captive with his stomach on the ground and his face too. Tom couldn’t help his two cousins but when the 4 guys were done they made tom Julie and robin jump off the bridge into the Mississippi river where the 4 guys thought they would die. The 3 cousins fell in the river and tom thought he was the only one alive at first but then he saw Julie but couldn’t find robin. Tom and Julie were getting really tired trying to swim and then Julie ended up getting away from tom but tom ended up getting ashore and waving down help. Now tom is in the police station getting questioned like crazy and at this point tom is so tired after being up for over 36 hours straight. Well the cops ended up doing a polygraph test on him just to make sure he didn’t do anything. Tom ended up failing it and now he is just about to give up like crazy because he knows he is innocent. Tom’s mom Kay, and dad Gene, ends up getting tom an attorney named Frank Fabbri. And that’s as far as I have got. During Christmas break I’m planning on reading and maybe finishing my book. With the required pages being raised to 400 doesn’t really affect me much but my goal really is to just reach over 300 pages every time so I know I can at least pass.

I read 240 pages this month, and the titles of my books are “ The Blue Shoe” and “Breaking Dawn”, I abandoned “ The Blue Shoe” in the middle part of the book, because at the beginning the book was interesting, but it started getting boring from middle art of the book, and the book’s contents is not focus on the blue shoe anymore, so I lose the interest of the book, so I abandoned it. Based on the grading chart, I believed I deserve an A grade, because I read 240 pages this month.
“Breaking Dawn” is a serialized in installments of “twilight”, they are about a love story by a vampire and a human. In this book, their relationship have an incredible develop, they got married. In real world, we don’t have vampire, so we would never seen the other species get marry with human, but in novel, everything can happen. I think the main idea of this book is not really about the vampire, but about how great the love is, although they have a lots of challenge for their love, they still don’t give up, no matter what happened, they still want to get together. This book gave me a edification, love can be everywhere and everyone has the right of love, no matter who you are, rich or poor, tall or short, fat or skinny, you have the right, the right of give love and receive love. And love can surpass anything, if you love each other, you can forgive the wrong thing he/she made, even in the bible said love is the greatest medicine of the world. After I read this book, I decide no matter what I experienced, I have to be brave for my love, this is not only for the lover, this love is also to my family, to friends, even to my pets. I want to be the person that can protect my love in my entire life.

December Reading Reflection
This month I have read a little over 300 pages, passing the 240 page requirements. This was all in one book, The Eternal Kiss. This book contains many different stories written by many different authors. I only read one book this month and I am still not quiet finished with it and I haven’t abandoned any books. I do believe that I deserve an A this month, based off the grading chart, I have read over the page requirement.
In The Eternal Kiss there are many different stories. They all have to deal with vampires in one way or another. I didn’t like some of the stories in the book. Most of the stories are just to short and stop randomly. I do believe that these stories can be really good if they were continued on. They feel rushed to a complete stop leaving me feeling confused and unhappy. This one story out of the book, Undead is Very Hot Right Now, is about a boy who is in a band with people that he hates and he is the only vampire. Girls are falling all over him because of his mysterious vampire ways. He met a girl, thought he fell in love, thought she was the one, then turned out she just wanted him to bite her and show off to all her friends. The story ended with him alone and feeling like a complete idiot. He fell in love with the band and the attention and seems to have become someone who likes all the attention and selfish. Something he never wanted to become. The ending was horrible. The whole story was ridiculous. It really made me mad. But then the next story was awesome. Packed with action, mystery, and left you wanting more, to see what happens next. The story, Kat, is about a girl who is a supernatural and her mentor is a vampire. Her mentor and her have been on the run for two years from, what she thought was, vampires when really her mentor was lying to her to save her life. The hunters were really after her. There is a lot of action them running away being caught, escaping, and eventually the girl was shot. Her mentor grabbed her and ran! The girl woke up! All this time she was a vampire and being shot brought it out! She now knows the truth and then it ends! It was a good story. I wish it would continue on though. I want to find out what happens after she figured out she’s a vampire.
This Christmas break I plan on finishing this book and then start a new one before school starts back up. I’m not sure what I want to read after this book though. I need to go to the public library and look around.
I don’t think that the raised reading requirement next semester is going to really affect me. I will just have to start reading more and more often to keep up with it, but it shouldn’t be to hard to reach.
Shelby M.
For the month of December, I have read 246 pages. I read all 246 pages from the book, Ida B. I haven’t abandoned any book this month. Based on the grading chart I deserve an A because I met the reading requirement.
Ida B, is about a young girl who lives with her mom and dad in a house on a lot of land. The land is filled with orchards of apple trees, a brook, a little hill, and a huge old tree. Ida B, the young girl, used to play on all of this land and be home-schooled until her mom got cancer. Once this happened, her dad had to sell part of the land for the money for her mom’s medicine and Ida B had to go back to school because they didn’t have the time to home-school her anymore. She became quite mean after this and vowed to not make any friends or show any kindness to anyone. Towards the end of the book though, Ida B can’t help but be nice and apologize to people for her rudeness. After she apologizes she begins to be herself again. She plays on the land they have left, she is nice to her parents, and even nice to the kids at school. She even started to accept friendship.
This book reminded me of when I was little and I used to play outside. I loved playing in my backyard when it was sunny out and I had my dogs outside playing with me. Ida B played with her dog, Rufus, outside too. Ida B also sent out messages on little stick rafts down the brook asking questions hoping that someone would find it and send her back an answer. This reminded me of when I was little and I used to bury little beads in the ground in hopes that someday somebody would unbury it in the far future and think that it was treasure and wonder where it came from. Ida B is really close to her parents too just like I was and still am.
This book made me feel happy. It brought to me so many memories from when I was little that made reading this book really enjoyable for me. It seemed to always have a good feeling, except for when Ida B’s mom got cancer. Whenever I started reading this book I just couldn’t stop. I think this is a great book to read you’re feeling down or you want to relax.
I haven’t yet made any reading plans for Christmas Break, but I would like to go out to Borders and buy a new book to read. I was sort of hoping to get a Christmas book before Christmas to read, but I never had the time. So I will wait until after Christmas and go out to Borders and look for a book to start reading.
When the reading requirement is moved from 350 to 400 pages, it will affect me a tiny bit in some ways. If I’m reading a book that I really like and want to read in all of my spare time, it will not affect me at all. Though if I’m reading a book I am bored with and one that I am not really into, then it will affect me a bit. If this were to happen then I wouldn’t want to read and I would keep putting it off then realize that I don’t have enough pages and freak out. What I will need to do to meet this requirement is get a book that I will really like and want to read. Also I will have to at least read 14 pages a day unless one night I read over the goal of 14 pages a day, which may happen if I’m reading a book I am really into.

This quarter I have read over 250 pages on my book vampire hunter I really enjoyed reading that book I almost abandon it though because at first it wasn’t interesting but then I started reading it more and more and I like it I read various comic books like death note almost the whole series and those were interesting too and also I read the run aways that series was good although I didn’t get to finish it all because as I started getting farther and farther it started getting dumber and dumber so I had to abandon it I had to abandon the run aways , twlight , and vampire diarys , I think I deserve a b because I read comic books pages and they weren’t as long as regular books the paragraphs were shorter that most novel books I plan to make the reading requirements by reading more books and finishing most of them and also reading novel books or books with series with them
The only book I read that I actually almost finished was vampire hunter staring Abraham Lincoln the book was about Abe’s diary that he wrote in as a boy and flipped it into a vampire story and made it very interesting my reactions to the was that it was good I felt that the book had a lot of imagery that helped me stay focused on what I was reading my thoughts about the book was it was great it keep me reading excited the scenes the action in the book just that alone kept me interested my feelings by reading this book made me imagine that what if I was the character in the book that would be very awesome to be one of the characters in the book, the characters changed in the story were Abe he went from being a kind loving man that would help every one to a mass vampire killer he seeks revenge for the death of his mother when a vampire kills her in his own house and he slowly watches her and he couldn’t take it so he swore to kill every living vampire in the world , and he succeeds with his partner, the theme of the book was revenge and love for a person and that alone gives the drive to read this book, my plans for Christmas break is to read to get a little head start and get me warmed up for next semester because we have to read a lot more pages a month and I think I will succeed if I keep reading over break I plan to start reading fiction books that have creatures in them because I look books about fictional monsters it keeps me interested by next semester I don’t think the reading will effect me because its not so hard to read 13 pages a day it just takes maybe 1 hour out of my day and I think I can do that so it will not effect me the only way that it might would be is if im very lazy one day and fall behind because I wont be able to keep up I think I will be able to read more every day and make the requirements to pass the class as long as I stay focused I will be able to make the requirement with no distractions and I will not mess around in class.

This month I read 250 plus pages gym candy it was this football book about this dad who was raising his son a better football player than he was because while his dad mike Johnson the first was a standout in high school and went on to be a big turn out in college and then was a third round draft pick in the NFL and had a negative attitude never showed up to practice or training camp, But mike the second was growing up to become one of the elite in the high school and college but he took a wrong turn when he looked for steroids to help him get bigger and faster.
I felt like the book was going to kind of end the way I thought it would because he is just like his dad he cant be his own person he really didn’t follow his dad but he wanted to get bigger and faster right away he didn’t want to lift and get bigger and it eventually took him over he did really good but he cheated I wish he would of followed the rules his friends would not want to keep this a secret once he told him he was going to shot him but instead tried to kill himself but the bullet buzzed his head and now everything he worked for just like that went down the drain. Be yourself don’t be a follower.
I think over Christmas break I will read the rest of Marley and me because it is a really good book I love books about dogs and it really caught my attention. I also might try to get the cirque du freak series because I like those kinds of books also.

In this month I read about 300 pages Evolution me and other freaks of nature , Lady Q , and Roof top. I abandon Evolution me and other freaks of nature it was a good book but it didn’t move fast enough for me. It took too long to reveal the secret of the main person of the book. Based on the grading chart I deserved a A that is 20 point because I read past 240 pages that we had to read in the month.
A book I read this month was Lady Q. Lady Q’s real name was Sonia. Who lived in Chicago with parents that abused her - a mom that beat her a father that beat her and later then mother re-married and stepfather beat her too.Sonia’s sister also got beat but not much as they beat her. she was the middle daughter. Sonia wanted to leave that life so she acceptance to a gang life to be loved the way no one gave her that love. Few years later in the gang life she became the Queen of the king gang giving her the name Lady Q. she went through hunger ,jail and homeless with her son that she had with the king of the gang.Sonia would never get out of the gang and abused life.
My feeling about this book was sadness and I was angry because no girl should go through a miserable life like Lady Q had to. I was mad at her parents who beat her. No mother should beat her daughter.
During Christmas Break, I will read Blood-Stained Kings.
I won’t have any trouble meeting the new requirement because I already read more than required.

This month I read a book called Cirque Du Freak, it's about a ten year old kid being turned into a half vampire. The book I read was number twelve in the series it is called Sons of Destiny. Now Darren that's the main character is grown up but not as much as you'd think since he's a half vampire he ages at an eighth the human rate, making it hard for him to date girls his age. But half-way through this book Darren hit's the purge it's when the vampire cells within his body take control of the human cells causing him to become a full vampire. But it would be short lived since Darren is on the hunt for the sinister vampaneze lord and his once best friend Steve leopard it's really leonard but steve never minded.
Since Darren is going through the purge his body is in a weakened state causing him to be completely useless if his enemies attacked. but Darren wouldn't let the purge get the best of him, so he pulled himself together and stated again on his mission to kill the vampaneze lord and save the vampire clan from exstinction. Also on his quest are hie four friends Markat Mulds a little person who was brought back to life by the all powerful and ever meddling Mr. Desmond tiny. Larten Crepsley Darren's master and the vampire who blooded him, also with them is Vancha March a vampire prince. He wasn't a real prince by blood since vampires cant have kids but was elected one by his fellow vampire clansmen as were two others Seba nile and Darren Shan, Darren is much younger than the other princes and is a prince only because he helped stop a plot that would have spelled doom for the vampires. And as a reward he was made a prince, even though he did not want to become a prince but he felt it was the only way to kill steve and win the war of the scars.

This month I read around 300 pages. The titles of my books are Copper Sun and First Part Last. I only abandoned a couple of books this month I don’t remember the titles, they were just random books I picked up if I had forgotten my own. I read more than required so I deserve an A based off the grading chart.
First Part Last was a book about a 16-year-old boy Bobby,
And his new born daughter feather. Bobby struggles with taking care of his daughter and keeping up with school. During my reading I got confused. The story jumped back and forth between the past and the present. I think that’s why it was interesting to me. You never knew what was really coming but you had a hint or strong feeling. In the end you find that feathers mom is now a “vegetable”. During the baby’s birth something went wrong and now she is paralyzed for life, can’t eat speak or walk on her own. This book had me almost in tears. At times I was holding my breath anticipating what would happen.
For Christmas Break I might read some while I’m relaxing at home. There’s a series to another book I had read by Sharon draper. Hopefully I can find them and discover what else happens next.
The requirement for next month will be harder to reach. I’ll have to get a book imp really interested in so I can keep up. I will have to read more in class and not just camp. i'm sure I can finish the amount of pages required if I keep on it.

I have read 288 pages this month. I had just finished High Heat By: Carl Deuker. This book kind of made me sad because it talked about baseball a lot and I am unable to play now due to a bad elbow. I also had many connections with this text like when his dad got arrested and when I was younger my father did too. And another connection I have is that he was a pitcher and so was I.
I believe I should receive a (B to a B-) because the paper says you must have 249 for a B and I accomplished more than that. My goals for Christmas break is too read two books, one of them will probably be about sports, and I would like the other one to be an action book. I would like for them too be at least 200-300 pages long. If I a lot of free time I should read more than two though.
My book was about a boy named Shane and he played baseball for his high school team. But when his father was accused of a charge and put in jail Shane had too move. Shane was moved with his mom and sister into a tiny apartment. Shane had never gone to a public school and decided he had lost the love for the game after moving. He then was playing and purposely hit a kid on the other team. Once he realized what he had done and him and the injured boy had too work there’re demons out.
Next time we do a reading reflection I want to aim for about 500 pages reading 15 a day. And focusing on my grades way more than I was. Reading is not one of my favorites but I think it will improve my learning skills in more than language arts.

This month I read 2 books, well actually it was more like 1 ½ books. I read all of the book Unforgettable by: Cecily Von Ziegesar which is 250 pages and in my free time on Christmas break I read about 100 pages of the book L.A. Candy by: Lauren Conrad. All together I read about 350 pages, give or take a few and I really think I deserve all 20 points because even though it was a short month I still tried my hardest to reach a normal month’s reading requirements.
Unforgettable had an interesting story line and it drew me in and I just couldn’t stop reading. It is about a girl, Cassie who really likes this guy, Easy but one of her friends, Jenny does too. The girls make a deal to put their friendship first and neither one of them be with the guy. But Cassie doesn’t want to just give up on Easy so she goes behind Jenny’s back and decides to be with him anyway. The story goes on and eventually Jenny finds out about Cassie and Easy which doesn’t turn out too well. I really liked this book, even though I couldn’t really relate to the people or the things that happened in it, I could still relate some of the events to things I see in school. Its books like this that I normally am drawn to and enjoy reading because it isn’t all just some made up stuff; it’s like real life situations that all kinds of people can relate to. Now with that being said, L.A. Candy wasn’t exactly my favorite book because I just couldn’t relate to it at all which is why I decided to abandon it.
Next month (now this month) when the reading requirement gets higher, I don’t think I’ll have too much trouble with it because I get pretty close to it already. I’m just gonna have to set aside a little more time outside of school to get it done. I’ve already found myself a good book to start off my reading so I’m not too worried about it.
