This is an excellent example of Pathos, showing animals with all sorts of views, happy, sad, angry, and all other sorts of views of these dogs. The audience pertains to people that are softhearted towards animals, and the music is good as well. Again, it appeals to all sorts of emotions, with the scenes, the music, the dramatic effects and cuteness of the dogs, it's all very well put together. But, as with most commercials that show animals in shelters, it's pretty much an overall sob-story, trying to pull you into pulling a dog from the pound and adopt it.

This ad is for ending world hunger. The audience this is facing, is people that have big hearts, and just regular people. The topic of this ad is ending world hunger. This is a good example of pathos because it shows kids that appear to have been helped, and it says a catchy phrase that pulls on your heartstrings. It appeals to the sad emotion. When you think about people starving, and you have plenty of stuff, it makes you feel sad for those people. It is persuading the reader, to click for more information, to donate money to help end world hunger.

This ad is for cancer. I think that the audience is for anyone who has cancer, or knows anyone with caner, to show how much people care. Every time i see this commercial it make's me want to cry because the little girl cares so much for her brother that she wanted to cut her hair off and give it to him. I think it is persuading the viewer to take a stand and give cancer patients what they deserve, a chance to see things in a different view, to show that people really do care.

This ad is to get money for the starving kids in Africa. The audience is for people who care about children. This is a good example of pathos because it tell a very sad story about a kid in Africa who’s parents died so he is caring for his younger siblings and there’s not enough food left over for him to eat too. It makes you feel bad for the starving kids in Africa and want to help them. So the commercial is asking the audience to give money every month to help pay for food to send to the starving children in Africa.

The ad is for anyone who doesn't have Allstate insurance and are afraid of new teenage drivers, the audience is also the same. The topic would be, Allstate wants people to get their insurance because they think people are scared of new teenage drivers.

The reason it's a good example of pathos is because it relates to me because I am a new teenage driver and it makes me nervous to drive just as much as it makes everyone else nervous to drive. The emotion is scared or nervous because it's the thought of new drivers. It's persuading the viewer to get Allstate insurance because of new teenage drivers.

The advertisement is for engagement and wedding rings by Cartier and the audience are couples that are getting engaged or married.
The advertisement says: “How far would you go for Love” and shows two rings that are tied together with red strings. So it appeals directly to love through the red color that is associated with love and the fact that these are two rings (so a reader would suppose that they are wedding rings). It wants to show that the rings are very expensive but it is worth it, because love is the most important thing in life. Someone who reads this commercial and is in a serious relationship at the moment might ask himself this question. So the commercial makes the people think about their feelings for someone else. If they realize how important the other person is, they naturally want to show it so they would think about showing it with these rings.

This video is about the difference between the expectations others may have of him versus the expectations he has of himself. The audience is the Cleveland fans he upset and all the others watching this commercial. This topic of this video is what others are saying about lebron going to the Miami Heat.
It defines pathos because the cleveland fans watching this video are angry and upset towards him. It is persuading viewers because the angry fans just want to see what he has to say next about leaving them empty handed.

1. Allstate, the audience is people who don’t always know what’s going on, the topic is car insurance and how you have coverage no matter what kind of things happen. This is pathos cause it shows his emotions on being lost. The emotion is clueless.

An example of pathos is the ad on some Dawn dish soap bottles that advertises saving wildlife. The bottle has a cute little baby penguin on the front. What the ad is trying to achieve is to get people to buy this certain bottle of Dawn, because for every bottle that is bought, a dollar is used to save wildlife. The audience of this ad are all the people who shop in the grocery stores every day. This is a good example of pathos because a lot of people love animals, and many people would send money or buy a certain product in order to save the cute little animals that they are shown. This applies to the fuzzy warm feeling that people can have for animals. It also applies to people feeling sad and guilty, because if they don’t buy this product and save these animals than who will?

He is stating that people are going to make decisions in life that best suit their needs and not everybody else's.

The commercial I chose is an add about character, being a good person, and how people should be treated. The audience is mainly focusing on teenagers, I feel, but could also have an affect on adults too. I feel that this is a very good example of pathos because it really does have an emotional affect on people. It sort of makes you feel sad for the boy and for some; it could make you feel guilty if you’ve ever done something to someone that you shouldn’t have. The way I see it is that this is a kind of wake up call for anyone who has ever bullied someone else to stop and think about the person’s feelings before they do it again.

This video is for the people and fans that love the game just as much as the players do. It’s an inspirational video where some NBA players are speaking about what the game means to them, and the feeling they get while playing the game. This is a good example of pathos because as you watch it, you see men that expose their true feelings about their feeling for their job, and what they do everyday! As I watched this video I felt touched by how much someone can love basketball so much, and me being a ball player myself I know those feelings. The feeling of excitement, joy, and always having the drive and energy to want to play.

First off I just wanted to say that I love talking about ethos pathos and logos because it has everything to do with Marketing and business and how the appeal to the Target Market! But the ad that I used came from an ETrade commercial - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEXZ2hfD3bU - The ad is for E*trade and the target market would be adults that are interested in buying and buying stocks. The topic would be to show how easy E*Trade makes it for their customers to buy and sell stocks with them. This is actually a good example of pathos and ethos, but a great example of pathos because its funny. Where else do you see babies talk about buying stocks on line and not calling their girlfriends back? NO WHERE! Its perfect, and is saying even a baby can do it, that's how easy it is. This commercial makes you laugh and make you want to check out their website epically if you already buy/sell stock.

The commercial is for car insurance. Its targeting people who drive or own a car and think they are the best drivers.

Its a good example of pathos because it appeals to your emotions and states that even the best drivers can have accidents.

It persuades you to have insurance because in the video "Kasey Kahne" wrecks so its proof that the best drivers can wreck and its good to have accident forgiveness.

This is a great example of Pathos, it shows how sad and hungry these kids really are. The audience is the ones who really feels the pain of these kids because of the way the kids are so skinny and the depressing looks on there face. They put on sad music and type in words such as "will you be able to sleep tonight." This makes you feel helpless and sad. I think that is also makes you feel great full for what we do have.

This ad is for an anti-bullying movement, stating that words hurt and that you shouldn't be a part of it. The main audience of this ad is a bully who uses words to break down, put down, and tear apart others. The topic of this video is bullying and shows how much words hurt and how it is a slap in the face. This is an excellent example of pathos because it "toys" with your emotion and makes you want to do something to stop bullying. It appeals to sympathy and anger emotion, making you realize what other kids are doing isn't right. It is persuading the viewer to stand up and take charge.

The ad is for Cord blood. Their audience for this ad is the people that are planning on starting a family. Their topic is to save the cord blood to use incase a family member gets sick. This is a good example of pathos because this is a family that knows what this is about because they are going through or all ready did go through it. The emotion part makes people want to be able to save their family member if they need too. It makes you feel like its something that you have to-do. This is persuading the viewer to save their baby’s cord blood for their future children if needed.

It makes you want to go out and do something good. Maybe go out and help people who do not have as much as you do. This video is for car insurance. However, instead of being a serious commercial that involves wrecks and statistics of who died or was injured. It makes the viewer get an idea of how good the product is with a funny little side note. Maxwell makes me laugh every time I see this commercial, and because of him it also appeals to younger drivers as well. The little piggy could make anyone laugh, so that’s why it is such a good example of pathos. Because it brightens your day, rather than making you scared to drive like all the other insurance commercials that show wrecks and making you feel sad the rest of the day. It makes the viewer want to by insurance, and also to drive safely no matter what distracts you.
